Angelica dahurica was first recorded in Shennong materia medica of the Eastern Han Dynasty. It was named White and fragrant, and was listed as the middle grade. It is pungent in taste and warm in nature. It is mainly used for "women's red and white leakage, blood closure, Yin swelling, cold and heat, eye invasion, tears, skin growth, moisturizing, and can be used as facial fat".
